Experience
My therapeutic journey began long before I qualified as a psychotherapist. Whilst running a school for street children in India over two decades ago, I came to learn more about the complex mental histories of children on the street. This led me to study MA in applied drama concerned with using creative approaches such as drama and role plays to explore mental health challenges. Later the three year studies in level five Diploma in Psychotherapeutic counselling provided me with in depth knowledge of theories towards becoming a practitioner. Besides working online, I have also face to face in schools and as a volunteer with MIND. I have experience of working in groups dealing with issues such as hoarding, anxiety and anger. I am also a chi-kung and mindfulness practitioner as well as a member of the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network concerned with issues of diversity and difference in relation to therapy.
